CAD Designer Engineer

he CAD Design Engineer is responsible for utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software to support mechanical design and development activities, including surface design. They collaborate with the engineering and design teams to create accurate and detailed 3D models, assemblies, and drawings that meet project requirements and adhere to engineering standards. The CAD Design Engineer is critical in translating design concepts into practical and manufacturable solutions.

Responsibilities:

1. CAD Modeling and Surface Design: Using CAD software, create 3D models, assemblies, and surface designs based on engineering specifications, design guidelines, and project requirements.

2. Design Development and Optimization: Collaborate with the engineering team to develop, refine, and optimize mechanical designs, considering factors such as functionality, aesthetics, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.

3. Drafting, Detailing, and Documentation: Generate detailed drawings and documentation for components, assemblies, and surface models, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to relevant standards and specifications.

4. Engineering Changes and Design Reviews: Support the engineering change process by updating CAD models, assemblies, and drawings to reflect design modifications. Participate in design reviews to provide feedback, identify issues, and propose improvements.

5. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and manufacturing professionals, to gather input, address design challenges, and ensure design integrity. Effectively communicate technical information and collaborate on design solutions.

6. CAD Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance related to CAD software, tools, and processes. Offer guidance to team members on CAD best practices and methodologies.

7. Design Optimization and Feasibility: Assess design feasibility, considering factors such as manufacturability, performance, and cost. Propose design improvements and optimizations as necessary.

8. Documentation and Standards Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of CAD models, drawings, and specifications. Ensure compliance with engineering standards, industry codes, and best practices.

9. Continuous Learning and Development: Stay updated with the latest CAD software advancements, techniques, and industry trends. Pursue professional development opportunities to enhance CAD skills and knowledge.

10. Mechanical Design Support: Support the mechanical design and development process, including assisting with creating mechanical models, assemblies, and drawings.
