Head of Hardware/Software Development

Job Summary: The Head of Hardware/Software Development will lead and manage all aspects of hardware and software development for UAV products. This role is crucial in ensuring that our products integrate seamlessly and meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, testing, and production teams to drive the development of cutting-edge UAV technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Management:
    • Lead the hardware and software development teams, providing strategic direction and oversight to ensure successful project execution.
    • Develop and implement development strategies, plans, and processes in alignment with company objectives.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all hardware and software development-related matters.
  • Hardware/Software Development:
    • Oversee the design, development, and testing of hardware and software components for UAV products.
    • Ensure that hardware and software solutions are integrated seamlessly and meet performance and reliability standards.
    • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in hardware and software development processes.
  • Project Management:
    • Manage multiple development projects simultaneously, ensuring that timelines and budgets are adhered to.
    • Monitor project progress and performance, making adjustments as needed to ensure successful project completion.
    • Provide regular updates and reports to the executive team on project status and milestones.
  • Quality & Compliance:
    • Ensure that all hardware and software development activities comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
    • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to implement and maintain robust quality control processes.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and development efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with engineering, testing, and production teams to ensure product designs meet development requirements.
    • Provide input during the design phase to identify potential development challenges and solutions.
    • Facilitate communication and collaboration between different departments to ensure seamless development processes.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement in hardware and software development activities.
    • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance development efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the development team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience in hardware and software development, with a focus on aerospace or similar technologies.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading hardware and software development projects from concept to completion.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with embedded systems, real-time operating systems, and UAV technologies is a plus.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards for UAV development.
